The Directorate of Trade within the Ministry of Commerce oversees amendments to the Commerce Ministry’s list of prohibited imports. The list is published in trade bulletins and various publications, but often changes with little notice. The current list includes counterfeit money and goods, pornographic articles, narcotic drugs, playing cards, and items featuring images of the Buddha, pagodas, or the flag of Burma.
