Customs Regulations
Last published date:

Under the junta-led Ministry of Planning and Finance (MOPF), the Customs Department continues to manage the Myanmar Customs Information System (MCIS) and the Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance System (MACCS), which is an online system linking with other governmental associations.  The systems were developed under the ousted civilian government to connect to both the National Single Window and the ASEAN Single Window.

Logistics is one of the sectors hardest hit by the military coup.  Since February 2021, Yangon ports face several operational disruptions due to the nationwide Civil Disobedience Movement with labor strikes in opposition to the military’s violent actions and the rapid surge in COVID-19 cases in major cities.

Early May onwards, customs operations resumed business as usual but with several delays in customs clearance due to the backlogs.
