2024 EUROPEAN MULTI-CITY IRA ROADSHOW

APRIL 3 – 11, 2024

April 3: Oslo
April 4: Copenhagen
April 8: Dusseldorf
April 10: Munich
April 11: Vienna

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is making substantial investments in climate and clean energy solutions through innovative tax incentives, grant programs, and loan guarantees. SelectUSA will partner with the Department of Energy to highlight these unique IRA investment opportunities with five events across five European cities to attract FDI in the U.S. As leaders of the global clean energy economy, European companies can provide the U.S. with cutting-edge technologies and strategic capital.

The European cities hosting the IRA roadshow events will focus on different clean energy sectors. EDOs interested in participating in one or more events must apply to be competitively selected. In early December, SelectUSA will host a webinar to review the agendas of each city’s event and discuss event selection criteria.

For questions and to apply to participate in the IRA Roadshow, please email Laura Johnson at laura.johnson@trade.gov

2024 INVESTMENT-FOCUSED U.S. PAVILION AT E-MOBILITY TAIWAN TRADE SHOW

APRIL 17 - 20, 2024
TAIPEI

Taiwan as an investment partner, is now one of the top 10 fastest-growing sources of FDI in the United States. With over $22.4 billion in stock of FDI in the United States, U.S. affiliates of Taiwan companies support over 22,100 jobs in the United States.

According to the U.S. International Trade Administration, Taiwan holds the position of the 8th largest source of automotive parts imports to the United States, with an import value exceeding $3.5 billion. In light of supply chain disruptions during the pandemic and the recent enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, this trade deficit presents a substantial opportunity to encourage Taiwanese automotive supply chain investment in the U.S.

The U.S. Pavilion is specifically designed to bring together states and regions focusing on the development of their Electric Vehicle/Autonomous Vehicle supply chain. To make your booth even more attractive, we highly recommend including procurement representatives—preferably high-ranking decision-makers—from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers, and Charging Service Providers. Additionally, the show organizer offers a buyer sponsorship program, further enhancing the appeal of buyers’ participation.

For questions and registration, please email Madison.Yao@trade.gov and Heidi.Chang@trade.gov

CHIPS FOR AMERICA AND SELECTUSA: Resources for Supporting International Business Attraction in the Semiconductor Industry

In partnership with SelectUSA, CHIPS for America will host a webinar focused on how economic development organizations can support international businesses in the semiconductor industry new to or unfamiliar with operating in the U.S. market. With the efforts led by CHIPS for America to build a domestic semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem and develop vibrant and sustainable semiconductor clusters around the country, many communities are experiencing an influx of activity from international firms. This will serve as an informational discussion of the services and resources available through the U.S. Department of Commerce to support efforts to attract new business investment into their communities and provide assistance to companies who may be unfamiliar with navigating the U.S. business landscape. Information will be targeted to state and local economic developers, but participation is welcome by all who are interested.
