Office of Textiles and Apparel: Grow America

The Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) administers programs and strategies to improve domestic and international competitiveness of the U.S. textiles, apparel, footwear and travel goods industries. As part of the International Trade Administration, OTEXA promotes trade programs and works on behalf of U.S. companies to improve domestic and global business environments and promotes export opportunities.

The Benefits of Exporting

Over 95% of the world’s consumers live outside the U.S. – by 2030, the number of people considered middle class will triple to 1.2 billion with the global economy growing to $72 trillion (Source: A Basic Guide to Exporting). Exporting is a great way to reach the global market and these consumers.

Preparing to Export

Once you begin to export, there are some key areas you should consider. OTEXA can support you with recommendations on market research and marketing strategies to ensure that you enter the right markets for your products. OTEXA can also help promote your products and help you reach more interested buyers through trade shows and trade missions held throughout the world.
