Total imports for automobiles, trucks, vans, automotive parts, and accessories have slightly decreased from $527 million in 2018 and $520 million in 2019[1].  There is an emerging interest among Senegalese for U.S.-brand vehicles and market opportunities for the supply of spare parts.  There is a small assembly plant to produce buses and cars supported by Indian, Chinese, and Iranian firms.  The parts are imported in kits and assembled locally.
