Presidential decree #6044 (https://lex.uz/docs/4966394) of August 24, 2020 abolished license requirements for a number of activities starting from January 1, 2021 (and proposed alternative regulatory mechanisms), including:

  • Auditing services
  • Professional activity in the securities market, activities of investment funds
  • Design, construction, use and repair of bridges and tunnels
  • Production and wholesale of medical devices and supplies
  • Design, construction, use and repair of defense systems
  • Activity of non-governmental educational institutions

Parliamentary decree #222-II (https://lex.uz/docs/69142#76994), scheduled for update and amendment in 2021,  lists activities requiring licenses, including:

  • Design, construction, operation and repair of main gas pipelines, oil pipelines, and oil product pipelines
  • Medical services
  • Development of architectural and urban planning documentation
  • Providing expertise on construction projects
  • Extraction, processing and sale of oil, natural gas and natural gas condensate
  • Sale of petroleum products
  • Banking services
  • Tourism services
  • Design, construction, use and repair of high-risk objects and potentially dangerous productions
  • Production of ethyl alcohol and alcoholic beverages
  • Activity of religious educational institutions
  • Production of tobacco products.
