Under Honduras’ Financial Balance and Social Protection Act, imports of motor vehicles over ten years old, except classic collectible cars, and passenger buses over thirteen years old are prohibited. Imports of refurbished and right-hand drive vehicles are also prohibited. Import restrictions are also imposed on firearms and ammunition, toxic waste and chemicals, pornographic material, and narcotics. Import restrictions are based on phyto-sanitary, public health, and national security factors.
