Clean EDGE Trade Mission

Overview

The Clean Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy (EDGE) Asia Business Development Mission went to Indonesia (Jakarta) and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi) and an optional program in the Philippines (Manila) on June 6-13, 2022. The trade mission aim was to increase U.S. exports of products and services to the Indo-Pacific region that strengthen energy security, enhance energy access, promote open and efficient energy markets, and advance clean energy and climate goals in Southeast Asia.

This was the first trade mission organized under the Clean EDGE Asia initiative which aims to support and accelerate Asia’s clean energy transition by harnessing the expertise and resources of the U.S. government, the private sector, international financial institutions, and like-minded governments.  

Mission Activities

Mission participants took part in a number of activities, including: 

  • Met with key Southeast Asian decision-makers to discuss how to foster policies, regulations, and financial investment that support the development of sustainable, secure, and profitable energy markets.
  • Received customized one-on-one business appointments. 
  • Networked with regional government officials and prospective business partners.
  • Facilitated discussions on best practices in their areas of technical expertise.

Mission Participants

The U.S. delegation included 12 industry-leading organizations across the renewable energy and fuels, energy storage, hydrogen, smart grid, nuclear, and liquefied natural gas sub-sectors.
