Country Commercial Guides are prepared at U.S. Embassies worldwide by the Commerce Department, State Department, and other U.S. agencies’ professionals.
  • Explore Customized Market Research - ITA provides U.S. companies with answers to questions specific to their products or services in a market, including information about market structure, trends and size, customary distribution and promotion practices, and key competitors, agents, distributors, or strategic partners. 
  • Initial Market Check - The Initial Market Check service provides U.S. firms with an initial assessment of the market potential of their product or service in a targeted market by gathering feedback from industry participants and providing recommendations on whether to pursue the target market.
  • Market Diversification Tool - Among U.S. companies that export, more than half only export to one market. U.S. Department of State 

  • Investment Climate Statements - The U.S. Department of State’s Investment Climate Statements provide country-specific information on the business climates in more than 160 countries and economies. The reports highlight local investment conditions, as well as remaining barriers that may hinder opportunities for U.S. companies. The Investment Climate Statements also form a chapter of the Department of Commerce’s Country Commercial Guides.

U.S. Small Business Administration

  • Trade Tools - The U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA’s) Trade Tools website is a one-stop shop for small businesses interested in international trade and connects small businesses not just to SBA resources, but also to resources at other federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Commerce, as well as state and local resources. 

U.S. Trade & Development Agency

  • Report Library - The U.S. Trade and Development Agency maintains an exclusive library of reports on the project preparation activities that it has funded in emerging economies around the world. Review the latest final reports for these grant-funded infrastructure project development activities.

U.S. Department of Energy

  • Energy Information Administration - The U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration provides information on the latest energy issues and trends in the market. It collects and disseminates energy data daily.

USDA 

  • Export and Trade Research - A USDA webpage with links to documents explaining exporting regulations and policies, provides exporter key services, and offers export and trade research.    

EPA

  • Tools for International Users - EPA provides technical assistance to its partner countries and to multilateral organizations through training courses, technology transfer, sharing of environmental data and information, and environmental education initiatives. 
  • EPA Export Import Requirements - EPA provides articles and reading material for requirements that pertain to exports and imports to and from the United States. 
  • International Environmental Finance Tools - EPA published a document in 2011 that highlights all the international environmental financial tools available to industry. It specifically features programs of governments and non-governmental agencies that can help finance projects in international markets. 
  • Air Quality Information for International Audiences - This website offers information about how the U.S. manages air quality and provides resources the international community can use to develop their own air quality management processes. The content may also be helpful to others, such as staff at Tribal, state, or local air pollution agencies.

  • Coastal and Ocean Economy - The National Ocean Service provides data, tools, and services that support coastal economies and their contribution to the national economy.
