Advocacy for Exporters

U.S. Department of Commerce

  • Advocacy Center - The International Trade Administration’s Advocacy Center helps U.S. companies win foreign government contracts across the globe. The Advocacy Center marshals U.S. government resources and authority to level the playing field on behalf of U.S. business interests as they compete against foreign firms for international contracts.
  • Industry Trade Advisory Committees (ITACs) - ITACs are a unique public-private partnership. They are jointly managed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR). ITACs engage business leaders in formulating U.S. trade policy.
  • Advisory Committees - Advisory Committies help ITA develop comprehensive trade policies that address systemic challenges faced by U.S. industry to expand exports and promote investment opportunities; identify and address sector-specific trade barriers; and jointly promote industry exports.

U.S. Trade & Development Agency

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) can assist U.S. firms facing a competitive disadvantage from foreign competitors that offer incentives that exceed foreign government tender requirements. U.S. companies may request that USTDA level the playing field with a training grant to fund the cost of beneficial training for the project sponsor.

U.S. Department of Transportation

  • Transportation Contract Support - The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) works closely with the Department of Commerce’s Advocacy Center to provide support for transportation-related contracts and participate in transportation-focused trade missions and reverse trade missions.
