The top ten categories procured within the United Nations’ health sector are listed below in order of procurement volume in the table below. The United States was the second largest supplying country in this sector, with U.S. suppliers providing contracts valued at $682.2 million. India was the largest supplier. The health sector was the largest sector in 2019, having surpassed consultancy, administration and operations in 2018. This increase was mostly due to heightened procurement of pharmaceuticals, contraceptives, and vaccines by UNICEF.
