Iraq’s overall internet penetration rate is moderate (approximately 50 percent) and high-speed broadband is becoming more widely available. There are a few domestic e-commerce facilities, but it remains a largely underdeveloped market. Use of the internet and e-mail is growing among Iraqis, but e-commerce is still in the developmental stages of use for the business community. The GOI lacks current e-commerce legislation.
