Overview
BiH’s fragmented public sector is the largest customer for IT equipment and services in BiH. It is followed by the financial sector and the telecommunications sector - which is also majority government owned - and retail sales. BiH records relatively low levels of digitalization, especially in the public sector.
Many major U.S. companies have established a full-time presence in the market, either directly or through an authorized network of resellers and distributors, including Cisco, HP, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Intel, and Dell.

Opportunities
The government, private and public companies, and commercial banks are generally highly receptive to U.S. computer technology. Local experts predict strong spending in the IT/cyber security and data protection segments in the coming years. As more customers implement integrated product solutions for security and protection, corresponding services that follow the same model are likewise in demand. There is also growing interest in shifting existing systems and services to the cloud, and data storage and management. Digitalization efforts, including those funded by the EU and other donors, will necessitate large purchases of IT equipment and services and investments in IT infrastructure.
