Latin American Firms Find Value Standardizing Auto Parts

As part of its MDCP project, Auto Care Association has organized and led a series of technical seminars in Latin America that focused on the processes around standards development and maintenance of standards for the North American automotive aftermarket, ACES (Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard) and PIES (Product Information Exchange Standard).

Aircraft Parts Original or Aftermarket: Both Are Safe

The concept of using non-OEM parts is not as widely accepted or understood outside the United States. Through its MDCP project, MARPA is promoting the benefits of PMA parts to air carriers and educating potential international customers on the way that PMA parts fit within the regulatory environment related to their own country’s trade in civil aircraft parts with the United States.

American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers encourages U.S. feed industry to participate in the development of international standards.

The U.S. federal government does not promulgate standards. Industry organizations generally do this. It is common in the U.S. standards development process for private companies to provide most or all of the technical expertise. Experts generally come from firms engaged in making the products that are subject to the standards in question.
