United Kingdom Defense Seeks Defense Equipment for Ukraine
The UK MOD is seeking Expressions of Interest from international suppliers for specified equipment that can be delivered to Ukraine. The MOD, working closely with international partners, has established the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), a funding mechanism that uses contributions from international partners to quickly procure priority military equipment. This fund will ensure the continued supply of military support – lethal and non-lethal – to Ukraine through 2023 and beyond.
The UK MOD has recently launched Urgent Bidding Round 2 to acquire specific equipment for Ukraine and now invite Expressions of Interest from suppliers across the globe.
The MOD is seeking Expressions of Interest for the following equipment:
Mobility Support in the following sub-capability areas:
- Armored minefield breaching capabilities for Main Battle Tanks – T-72, Leopard 1, Leopard 2
- Armored vehicle launched bridges and launchers in any size
- Medium girder bridges
- Logistical support bridge launchers and reusable bridges
- Heavy equipment transporters capable of transporting Main Battle Tanks
Long range strike - Missiles or Rockets with a range 100-300 km with the following:
- Low probability of intercept
- Mission planning capability
- Assured navigation in the face of advanced countermeasures spectrum denial
- Air defense penetration capability to increase probability of successful strike
Air Defence in the following sub-capability areas:
- Sensors to detect and track cruise missiles, low flying DoD Group 2 drones, and/or ballistic missiles
- Sensor-guided air defense cannons to defeat low flying drones and cruise missiles
- Air burst rounds for cannon-based air defense systems
- Expeditionary barriers to protect critical infrastructure
Upgrade and maintenance of existing Ukrainian platforms.
Artillery or tank ammunition production.
