Poland Infrastructure Silesian Airport plans hundreds of millions of dollars in investments from 2024-2028

Katowice Airport will be investing in a goods and fuel reloading node based on a railway siding. The investment is planned to be financed with its own funds, a commercial loan, a capital increase, and a subsidy from the European Union.

The most important point of the investment plan is the construction of the main passenger terminal with an area of 52 750 ft2, which will be equipped with sleeves and will be connected to the “Pyrzowice Lotnisko” railway station by a tunnel. The new terminal will be built in the place where the oldest civilian part of the airport is currently located. The main passenger terminal will be a two-story building. In 2028, after the first part of the main passenger terminal is put into operation, the total area of Katowice Airport’s terminal infrastructure will be 81,000 m2. m, which will enable it to serve approximately 8 million travelers a year in comfortable conditions.

The new terminal will be connected to the “Pyrzowice Lotnisko” railway station by a tunnel approximately 270 meters long. A transfer center for public buses, coaches and buses is planned between the main terminal and the railway station. A new road system will also be built in front of the main passenger terminal, with new entry and exit gates and a Kiss & Fly zone.
