Poland Foreign Military Financing
The U.S. Congress approved the transfer of USD288.6 million to Poland as part of Foreign Military Financing.
The support announced by Secretary Blinken in Kiev on September 8th makes Poland one of the largest recipients of Foreign Military Aid outside Ukraine and is aimed at strengthening Poland’s ability to deter and defend itself against the increased threat from Russia. Poland has provided extraordinary support to Ukraine in the face of the ongoing Russian invasion.
These funds will accelerate the process of replenishing the equipment Poland has donated from its own stockpiles to strengthen Ukraine’s defense, such as tanks. The United States encourages countries to provide Ukraine with urgently needed support, as well as to start negotiating contracts with defense companies in order to start production of equipment for Ukraine as soon as possible.
