Panama ICT Opportunity: New Regional IXP

This initiative follows the guidelines established in Executive Decree No. 455 of June 20, 2018, as part of the Panama Hub Digital strategy, whose objective is taking the most advantage of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Panama.

Panama’s Regional IXP plans to offer the following services, among others:

Traffic capacity
Route server
Open peering
Content distribution
Cloud storage
Web hosting
Interconnection to government platforms

Currently, AIG published a market consultation to obtain quotes and recommendations from potential vendors, no later than July 18, 2023. This will not guarantee any contract awarding. After the consultation phase, the government of Panama will publish a public tender following the Public Procurement Law procedures.
