China Clean Energy Projects Liaoning Province

Liaoning Province is planning a series of large infrastructure projects totaling $121 billion in investment to increase its clean energy capacity.

The plan includes six project clusters, each expected to generate 10GW. This includes projects in Dalian, Fuxin, Chaoyang, and Shenyang. In Dalian, the plan is to develop a pumped hydroelectric energy storage (PHES) facility. In Fuxin and Chaoyang, they plan to develop the cities into regional power transmission hubs. The project in Shenyang seeks to utilize virtual power plant (VPP) and coal exhaust conversion to energy storage technology.

Opportunities exist around these projects for U.S. companies developing PHES, VPP, and renewable energy solutions.
