Chile National Satellite System

Chile’s National Defense Ministry, in collaboration with its Transport and Telecommunications Ministry, has initiated a request for information (RFI) process to invite telecommunications, space, and other industrial and commercial sector companies to register to request information about Chilean plans to develop its National Satellite System of Communications (SNSATCOM).

Telecommunications sector operators that integrate space capabilities in their value chain of services and products are also sought. The Government of Chile announced the National Space Program in 2019, and in 2021, announced the implementation of a National Satellite System.

According to Chile’s National Defense Ministry, companies interested in taking part in the RFI are asked to register with the Chilean government no later than August 31, 2023.
