The UAE has a Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative aiming to reach zero carbon emissions by 2050. The country has launched several initiatives to reduce carbon emissions within the transport sector using environmentally friendly mobility solutions including Electric Vehicles (EVs), Electric Boats, Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Travel and Tourism 2023 Official Forecast

The U.S. federal government recently released the official forecast of international visitation to the United States. ITA’s National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) forecasts the total volume of international visitation to the United States to increase to 62.8 million in 2023, up 11 million, or 21.2%, from 2022. The forecast also estimates international visitation to reach 82.4 million in 2025, surpassing pre-pandemic 2019 visitation, and reach 91 million in 2027 spending $279 billion across the nation. Please join us for an in-depth presentation of the forecast provided by David Huether, Deputy Director of Research at the National Travel and Tourism Office. The international visitation forecast includes actual annual visitation for years 2019-2022 and forecasted annual visitor volume for years 2023-2027. Join us to learn more about overall visitation as well as the 18 largest source markets based on 2019 visitor volume. The forecast of international visitation includes three measurements: volume (in thousands); annual percent change; and share of 2019 volume for each covered source market.

China’s Medical Device Market

The medical device market in China is currently $46.2 billion and is expected to grow 5% annually through 2030. Imported medical devices accounted for two-thirds of this market in 2022, with U.S. suppliers claiming $5.6 billion in sales. Market segments experiencing sustained demand include diagnostic imaging, high-value consumables, and orthopedics. Demand also exists for digital CT scanners, digital x-ray machines, electrocardiography (ECG), electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), MRI equipment, ultrasound scanners, implants, immuno-diagnostics, point-of-care testing (POCT), and joint-related products. This webinar will focus on market opportunities, market access requirements, IP considerations, and regulatory updates. We will clarify the role of China’s dominant public healthcare system and its burgeoning private hospital system, as well as how to sell into each of these segments.

Come join U. S. Commercial Service’s team as we discuss market opportunities with our U.S. Embassy colleagues, AmCham partners, and Advocacy Center. Two-way trade between the United States and Bangladesh reached $10.65 billion in 2021, an increase of 35 percent from the previous year when trade was impacted by COVID-19. Notable industrial goods exported to Bangladesh in recent years include turbines for power generation, commercial aircraft and parts, and locomotives. South Korea has become a leader in high-tech industries. The industries targeted by the Korean Government include healthcare (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology), industrial chemicals, information technology (IT) components, semi-conductor manufacturing, aerospace and defense, energy, environmental technology, and transportation (including reviving the shipbuilding industry).
