Brazil Media & Entertainment Music Industry
Brazil’s evolving music sector is creating opportunities for U.S. exporters of musical instruments, professional audio equipment, production technologies, and digital music services.
Brazil’s music sector is expanding, creating new opportunities for U.S. suppliers of musical instruments, professional audio equipment, studio technologies, and digital music services. According to Brazil’s National Music Industry Association (ANAFIMA), imports of musical instruments and related equipment reached USD 103.4 million in 2025, growing 2.7 percent in value and 14.4 percent in volume. This indicates rising demand and a shifting product mix.
Growth has been strongest in electric guitars, string instruments, and synthesizers, while demand is also expanding for studio equipment, live sound systems, and music production technologies. Brazil’s market is shifting from a traditional distributor-led model toward a multi-channel ecosystem driven by e-commerce, direct-to-consumer sales, influencers, and digital content creators. Consumers increasingly rely on online reviews, social media, and creator recommendations when making purchasing decisions.
Best prospects for U.S. exporters include professional audio and live-event equipment; mid- to high-end musical instruments; studio and recording technologies; music production software and digital platforms; and music licensing, publishing, and education services. Demand is supported by growth in live entertainment, independent content creation, and public-sector investments in cultural and educational programs.
U.S. firms should be prepared for challenges including high import duties, complex regulations, and competition from lower-cost international suppliers with strong digital distribution channels. Market entry strategies should emphasize strong channel partners, after-sales support, and targeted digital marketing.
Conecta+ 2026, scheduled for November 13–15, 2026, in São Paulo, offers a platform for U.S. companies exploring the Brazilian market. The event connects distributors, creators, public-sector buyers, and technology providers and is expected to attract more than 20,000 professionals and 1,200 qualified buyers. Unlike traditional trade shows, Conecta+ integrates instruments, audio infrastructure, software, and services into a single business environment, providing U.S. companies access to decision-makers and partnership opportunities across Brazil’s expanding music market.
