Brazil Energy SAF Regulation

Brazil is advancing regulations for its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) program, including emissions-reduction targets, sustainability certification and fuel traceability.

Market Intelligence
Brazil is moving forward with the implementation of its National Sustainable Aviation Fuel Program (ProBioQAV). The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) has approved a public consultation and public hearing on the proposed regulation of the program. The initiative aims to establish rules for implementing ProBioQAV within ANP’s regulatory jurisdiction, providing greater predictability for market participants and supporting the development of Brazil’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) sector.

The consultation and hearing will provide an opportunity for producers, importers, distributors, airlines, certification bodies, research institutions and other interested parties to submit comments and recommendations. ANP’s technical staff will review the contributions, which may inform revisions to the proposed regulation before it is submitted for final consideration. The draft resolution, supporting documents, consultation deadlines and instructions for participation will be made available on ANP’s website.
