Brazil Digital Health
Brazil is accelerating the digital transformation of its public healthcare system, creating near-term procurement and partnership opportunities for U.S. providers of telehealth, AI, and health data infrastructure solutions.
Brazil is advancing the digital transformation of its public healthcare system, the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), creating concrete opportunities for U.S. health IT providers. In December 2025, the Ministry of Health convened the Simpósio Laboratório InovaSUS Digital to highlight priority investments in telehealth, artificial intelligence (AI), interoperability, and the Rede Nacional de Dados em Saúde (RNDS) - Brazil’s nationwide health data platform that is becoming the backbone for integrating patient records and digital care delivery.
This strategy is supported by funding and active procurement. The federal government plans to invest approximately R$4.5 billion through 2026 in a network of “intelligent hospitals,” including 14 interconnected smart intensive care units (ICUs). Complementary programs such as Proadi-SUS - a flagship public–private partnership mechanism - have allocated an additional R$133 million to digital health initiatives. Recent tenders include teleconsulting, telediagnosis, and telemonitoring solutions integrated with national data systems, signaling clear entry points for technology providers.
Opportunities for U.S. Companies:
Brazil’s digital health expansion is generating demand in four key areas:
- telehealth platforms and remote care solutions;
- interoperability, cloud infrastructure, and health data integration aligned with RNDS;
- AI-enabled clinical decision support and hospital management systems; and
- implementation, systems integration, and cybersecurity services.
U.S. firms are well positioned to compete through federal and state-level tenders, as well as partnerships with Brazilian hospitals, health networks, and local integrators.
Early market engagement will be important, as many projects are being structured with local partners. Companies should be prepared to meet localization requirements and comply with Brazil’s data protection framework under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD). The 2025–2026 period represents a strong window for U.S. exporters to enter one of Latin America’s fastest-growing digital health markets.
