Labeling and Marking Requirements
Last published date:

In August 2020, the Ministry of Trade and Industry launched the Lesotho Standards Institution (LSI) to develop and publish national standards, test and certify local products, and  provide training relating to standardizing affairs.  Lesotho does not have specific legislation for product labelling and marking.  However, the Weights and Measures Act of 1970 provides information on marking weight, measures, and numbers on packages and containers.  Only country of origin labelling is required.  The Department of Standards within the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Cooperatives and Marketing can provide more information on labelling and marking requirements (Please see their contact info below).
