SDMC Expands its Global Reach

Advanced hydraulic technology key to industrial product and system offerings

When Jerry Yu, president of engineering for SDMC America Technology, Inc.—a River Falls, Wisconsin, manufacturer of products and systems incorporating advanced hydraulic technology for wastewater treatment, robotics, construction, and automation—was looking to grow his exports by entering the Mexican market, he saved time, money and resources by contacting the U.S. Commercial Service (CS) for assistance. 

CS export experts from Milwaukee and Mexico counseled Mr. Yu on market entry options, and he decided to pursue a Gold Key business matchmaking service. The CS’ Mexico-based environmental technology specialist researched, identified, and arranged several meetings for Mr. Yu with potential Mexican partners that met SDMC’s requirements and expressed interest in doing business with the firm. The CS specialist also accompanied Mr. Yu to the meetings and helped to facilitate discussions.

As a result of strategic export counseling and the business matchmaking service, Mr. Yu signed a new sales agreement in early 2025 to export his firm’s wastewater technologies. The technology will equip a major wastewater plant capital project to be constructed in Mexico; sales that will help SDMC grow.
