Thailand Healthcare Andaman Hub
The Andaman International Health and Wellness Center Hub presents significant opportunities for U.S. companies offering medical technologies, diagnostic and laboratory equipment, digital health solutions, hospital infrastructure, precision medicine, telemedicine, and healthcare training services.
On April 28, 2026, the Cabinet of Thailand approved a $192 million budget for the Andaman International Health and Wellness Center Hub, a flagship initiative proposed by Prince of Songkla University (PSU) to transform Phuket and the surrounding Andaman provinces into a world-class health and wellness destination.
The four-year project (2027-2030) addresses critical gaps in the region’s healthcare system, including shortages of medical personnel and limited capacity to treat complex conditions locally. It will also elevate healthcare services for both residents and the large international tourist population that makes Phuket one of Thailand’s most strategically important provinces.
The project is built around five initiatives:
- Andaman Health College - Training the next generation of healthcare professionals to meet growing regional demand.
- PSU Traditional Thai Medicine Hospital Phuket - Integrating traditional healing practices with contemporary medical approaches.
- PSU Medical Technology Service Center Phuket - Expanding diagnostic and laboratory capabilities to support advanced care.
- PSU Digital Dental Center Phuket - Modernizing dental services through cutting-edge digital technology.
- Songklanagarind Hospital Phuket (PSU Hospital Phuket) - A tertiary-level flagship hospital delivering.
PSU Hospital Phuket: The Centerpiece
With a construction budget of $145 million, PSU Hospital Phuket is the cornerstone of the initiative. Set to open in 2030, it will function as a tertiary-level specialized facility offering precision medicine, telemedicine, and clinical training for health science professionals. This will reduce the need to transfer patients with complex conditions to facilities in other regions.
By integrating education, innovation, and world-class infrastructure, the Andaman Health Hub will strengthen Thailand’s broader healthcare system while reinforcing Phuket’s reputation as a premier global destination for medical tourism and holistic well-being.
