Tanzania Market Seeks International Franchises
Tanzania’s expanding middle class is spurring demand for food/beverage and lifestyle products and services, resulting in a demand for new business ventures, including franchises.
Tanzania is currently home to a small but growing number of domestic and international franchises. Food and beverage franchises are the most prevalent, followed by clothing, hotel and resort, gas stations, and advertising companies.
There is strong market demand for U.S. products and services across additional sectors, including:
- Food and Entertainment Franchises: Tanzanians love to enjoy good food and drinks in an inviting environment. Alcohol consumption in Tanzania was measured at an average of 25.8 liters per capita in 2023. U.S. franchise concepts, including bars, nightclubs, and bowling alleys, are in demand.
- Gyms. A healthy lifestyle concept is sweeping Tanzania, leading to a market demand for international gyms.
- Signage companies: As the Tanzanian marketplace becomes more diverse and competitive, businesses are becoming more aware of the need and advantages of brand marketing, including signage and billboards, presenting opportunities for relevant U.S. companies.
- Beauty & Cosmetics: Tanzanians Over half of Tanzania’s 21 million population is female. There is ample market demand for international beauty and cosmetics franchises.
