Taiwan AI National Healthcare Initiative
Taiwan’s Healthy Taiwan Deepening Plan represents a major opportunity for U.S. companies offering AI healthcare solutions, digital health platforms, advanced medical technologies, health IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, and clinician training tools. As Taiwan invests in AI-enabled healthcare modernization, U.S. firms are well-positioned to support hospital transformation, clinical innovation, secure data use, and advanced care delivery.
A core pillar of President Lai’s National Project of Hope, the Healthy Taiwan Deepening Plan is designed to modernize Taiwan’s healthcare system and embed AI and digital technologies across clinical care and hospital operations nationwide. Officially commencing in 2026, the plan is the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s largest AI healthcare initiative to date, with more than $3.2 billion (NT$100 billion) already allocated in the first phase and total planned investment of approximately $15–16 billion (NT$489 billion) over the next five years approved by the Executive Yuan.

The Department of Commerce is also inviting American AI companies to apply to the American AI Exports Program. The program serves as a national front door for AI business opportunities and supports U.S. companies seeking to bring full-stack American AI solutions to international markets, including Taiwan’s. However, the deadline is approaching fast and ends June 30, 2026.
Through the American AI Exports Program, designated AI consortia may receive coordinated federal support, including government advocacy, prioritized export licensing, and access to federal financing resources. The American AI Exports Program may help strengthen market entry strategies, support partnerships with trusted foreign buyers, and position U.S. firms to compete in high-growth AI markets. Interested companies can learn more at AIexports.gov.
