Qatar’s new Cybersecurity Strategy 2024-2030

Qatar’s National Cybersecurity Agency (NCSA), the government agency leading the efforts in the sector, continues elevating Qatar’s cybersecurity profile and leadership in the region The cyber security landscape has drastically evolved since the launch of Qatar’s first cyber security strategy in 2014. With the rise of new technologies and digital threats, the need for further advancements in cyber security has also increased.

In September of 2024, NCSA launched Qatar’s Cybersecurity Strategy 2024-2030.  The strategy is developed around five main pillars: Cybersecurity and resilience in the local ecosystem; Legislation, regulation and law-enforcement of the cyberspace; A data-driven economy; Cyber culture of the workforce; and international cooperation and trusted partnerships cybersecurity.

Current regional tensions are high, cyber actors and cybercriminal groups pose an important threat to Qatar’s infrastructure the country is taking the necessary steps to face the new challenges.
