Qatar Cybersecurity and technology developments late 2025
Cybersecurity remains a highly dynamic and rapidly evolving sector in Qatar. The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) leads the country’s effort to enhance cybersecurity, which are outlined in the 2024-2030 National Cybersecurity Strategy. The NSCA’s cybersecurity awareness-building campaign and interagency efforts with Qatar’s public institutions have been recognized by ITU and the agency’s work in collaboration with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has been highlighted in regional forums.
In addition, artificial Intelligence (AI) is a growing priority in Qatar’s digitization agenda. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has announced the establishment of a National Centre for Artificial Intelligence in addition to the GovAI program, which aims to promote AI adoption across the public-sector. This year, Qatar will host MWC25 Doha - a regional spin off of MWC Barcelona - focused on connectivity, innovation, and digital transformation. Qatar also continues to host the MENA editions of the World Summit AI, which will be held in December 2025, and Web Summit, to be held in early 2026.
The Department of Commerce is organizing a Cybersecurity Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan, with an optional stop in Kuwait, in early December of 2025.
