Poland Infrastructure LTG Infra launches five public tenders for Lithuania Rail Baltica project

Rail Baltica is the largest railway infrastructure project in the history of the Baltic States. During its implementation, an electrified European standard-gauge railway line will be laid along the entire Rail Baltica route. The construction works for the project are the largest investment in the Baltic States and are intended to improve mobility and travel opportunities, develop business, tourism, and goods exchange in the region.

Moreover, as informed previously, tendering procedures to select companies matching qualification requirements to build the railway embankment, and construct engineering structures and access roads on the railway section between Kaunas and the Lithuanian-Latvian border is ongoing. The estimated value of contract works is about EUR 1,050 billion excluding VAT. Rail Baltica project leads the development and modernization of the railway network in Lithuania, its wider and faster integration into the European railway network, as well as increasing passenger access and the development of cargo potential in the south-west direction, including the port of Klaipėda. Therefore, LTG Infra has announced public tender of the feasibility study for the architectural study of the Lithuanian railway network. Proposals are being accepted until March 9, 2023.
