Kuwait Safety and Security Police Department Modernization
Kuwait Police Department, a branch of the Kuwait Ministry of Interior (MOI), is advancing law enforcement capabilities through artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), and big data to enable real-time policing, crowd control, and crime prevention. MOI continues to focus on adopting new technologies such as body-worn cameras (BWC), AI-enabled surveillance and facial recognition, predictive policing, license plate recognition, smart traffic enforcement, C4i command centers, and crowd management systems.
In November 2024, MOI began installing AI-powered traffic surveillance cameras (252 cameras across Kuwait) as part of a national initiative to enhance road safety and enforce new traffic regulations.
