Kuwait Public Medical Facilities Expansion
Kuwait’s public healthcare sector accounts for more than 80 percent of the healthcare spending. Kuwait’s Ministry of Health operates 28 general and specialized hospitals. High rates of obesity, diabetes (15% of adult population), and cancer continue to strain the healthcare system.
Kuwait is investing heavily in its healthcare infrastructure, aiming to develop state-of-the-art medical facilities and reduce treatment abroad funding. The National Healthcare Development Plan 2024-2025 includes 20 projects valued at $462 million (New Al Sabah Hospital, New Adan Hospital, Infections Disease Hospital, and Kuwait Cancer Center). This plan increases the need for U.S. medical products and services.
Opportunities:
- Cardiology, oncology, radiology, and radiotherapy AI-driven diagnostic equipment
- Pharmaceutical products: oncology, immunology, chronic disease medicines
- General surgery, orthopedic, and neurosurgery robotic machines
