Kuwait AI-Powered Robotics Initiative for Public Safety
On March 2026, Kuwait Ministry of Interior (MOI) and Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) announced plans to develop AI-powered robotics for identity recognition and detection, and firefighting solutions ($12 million total), as part of Kuwait’s national digital transformation strategy for AI-enabled public safety.
This MOI initiative involves the deployment of robotic systems in public areas, including shopping malls and public parking facilities to enhance security and surveillance operations. Robots will be equipped with integrated camera systems, real-time video streaming capabilities, secure transmission protocols, and direct connectivity to MOI’s facial recognition platforms. This will enable detection and identification of wanted individuals and vehicles, and automatic generation of alerts to central control rooms for rapid response. In parallel, the KFF initiative focuses on the development of firefighting robotic units capable of integrating with fire hose systems and operating in hazardous environments. These units will be equipped with thermal imaging cameras to enhance situational awareness, support the detection of individuals trapped inside buildings, and enable remote navigation capabilities to access dangerous areas, assist firefighting operations, and improve responder safety.
Kuwait seeks U.S. companies specialized in AI-powered robotics solutions, specifically quadruped robots with wheels to support the project’s expected rollout between Q4 2026 and Q1 2027.
