Croatia Healthcare Special Oncology Hospital to be built in country

Croatian privately owned Medikol Group has announced the start of construction of the Special Oncology Hospital Medikol Medical Center in Zagreb.

The Government of the Republic of Croatia has designated the project as a Strategic Investment Project, recognizing its importance in expanding the country’s oncology treatment capacity and positioning Croatia as a regional center of excellence for oncology care.

The hospital will be developed in three phases on a 55,000-square-meter site in Zagreb, the Croatia’s capital city. The first phase will include the construction of a radiotherapy center, departments of nuclear medicine and radiology, and an outpatient clinic.

A total of EUR 106 million has been secured for implementation of this initial phase of the investment.  It presents significant opportunities for U.S. companies offering radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, and radiology equipment, as well as oncology-related healthcare products, services, and technologies.
