Croatia Healthcare New National Children’s Hospital to be Built in Zagreb

The Croatian Minister of Health has announced the start of the design and construction process for the first phase of the National Children’s Hospital in Zagreb, Croatia’s capital. With an estimated investment of €237.5 million (approximately USD 256 million), this project represents the largest healthcare infrastructure project in Croatia in the past 50 years. The new facility aims to centralize pediatric healthcare services and provide multidisciplinary care for children from Zagreb and across the country. The hospital will feature over 500 beds, a helipad, and comprehensive mother-and-child care facilities, including maternity and neonatology departments.

The first phase will consolidate the operations of general pediatrics, pediatric surgery, and pediatric oncology currently housed within the Zagreb Children’s Hospital Clinic. In the second phase, the facilities for rehabilitation, psychiatry, and pregnancy care will be added.

This investment creates significant opportunities for U.S. companies offering pediatric healthcare products and technologies, medical devices, and hospital equipment.
