Croatia Healthcare Digitalization of Nursing Administration

Croatia’s healthcare sector is increasingly focused on improving operational efficiency, with particular attention on reducing the administrative burden placed on medical staff. Within this context, the Croatian Chamber of Nurses (Hrvatska komora medicinskih sestara – HKMS), the professional regulatory body representing nurses nationwide, has signaled its intention to accelerate the digitalization of the nursing administration. The objective is to streamline administrative workflows, reduce paperwork, and allow nursing staff to dedicate more time to patient care. 

The planned digital transformation aligns with broader efforts in Croatia to modernize healthcare administration and improve service delivery through the adoption of information and communication technologies. While healthcare providers in Croatia have already implemented certain digital tools, such as centralized patient records and e-prescriptions, many administrative processes remain largely manual and fragmented.
