Croatia and Italy Energy Offshore Wind Farm

Croatia and Italy are considering building an 300MW offshore wind farm in the Northern Adriatic Sea. The European Union, through Connecting European Facility (CEF) fund, is co-funding the preparatory studies that will help determine feasibility of a wind farm. The facility would be located at the 2,200 square-meter-large sea area between Pula, Croatia and Ravenna, Italy. INA, the Croatian oil and gas company, is conducting the study. If its feasibility is confirmed, the construction of the wind farm would start in 2026 and its commercial operations in 2029. U.S. companies interested in this or other renewable energy projects in Croatia can contact the local U.S. Commercial Service office for additional information and assistance at Office.Zagreb@trade.gov.
