CHINA URBAN RENEWAL MARKET

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development announced the “Notice on Launching the First Batch of Urban Renewal Pilot Cities.” There are 21 cities and districts selected for the first batch of the pilot project.

The purpose of the project is to transform urban development and construction methods, promote the efficient use of urban structures, and improve the quality of life in cities. U.S. construction companies may find potential opportunities in this development.

According to China’s recent census data, China’s urbanization rate has reached 64%, however the central and western regions of China have lower rates of urbanization at approximately 57%. China is prioritizing new sustainable urban development and plans to upgrade and retrofit older Tin urban areas.
