Burma Agribusiness Fertilizer

Burmese agribusinesses are actively seeking partnerships with U.S. exporters whose products can improve soil fertility, strengthen root and plant health, and increase crop productivity. Burma’s heavy reliance on imported fertilizers and agricultural inputs presents opportunities for U.S. companies offering fertilizers, agricultural biotechnology, biological inputs, and crop-protection solutions. 

Fertilizer imports play a vital role in Burma’s agribusiness landscape. According to the latest United Nations data report, Burma imported fertilizers worth approximately $614.31 million in 2025 and $535.3 million in 2024.  Approximately 80 percent of agrochemical, inorganic, and organic fertilizers are imported from neighboring countries, a volume that typically exceeds one million tons annually. 

A few prominent U.S. agro-lifescience and root exudate brands have been present in the Burmese market since 2017, demonstrating local demand for advanced U.S. agricultural solutions. U.S. fertilizer brands and quality are favored by the local farmers.
