BRAZIL IT ANPD AI Sandbox Participation
The Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) invites U.S. companies and public entities with legal representation in Brazil to apply by August 25, 2025, at 11:59 PM (BRT) for its Regulatory Sandbox on Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection. This initiative offers a supervised environment to test innovative AI projects involving personal data processing, with a focus on algorithmic transparency, regulatory compliance, and individual rights protection.
The ANPD’s Regulatory Sandbox
The ANPD’s sandbox is a controlled testing space for organizations to develop and evaluate AI systems that process personal data. It promotes responsible technology use, aligned with Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD), while fostering innovation and compliance.
Who Can Apply?
- Public or private legal entities with headquarters or legal representation in Brazil.
- Applicants must demonstrate technical and financial capacity to execute their projects.
- Priority will be given to projects involving generative AI, AI deployment for the public sector, or startups as defined by Brazilian law.
- Participation is voluntary and free of charge, with no entitlement to public funding or formal partnership with ANPD.
- A limited number of participants will be selected.

- Follow all instructions outlined in Public Call No. 2/2025, available on ANPD’s website.
