Bangladesh Safety and Security

Bangladesh’s proposed next-generation Safe City platform could create significant opportunities for U.S. companies offering public safety technologies, command-and-control systems, emergency communications, cybersecurity, AI data analytics, cloud infrastructure, and surveillance. U.S. suppliers that can provide secure, interoperable, and scalable solutions—supported by strong data-protection safeguards, transparent governance, and reliable lifecycle support—may be well positioned to compete.

The Bangladesh Police and Home Affairs Ministry are actively receiving proposals to develop a next-generation Safe City platform. This platform would integrate public safety, crime prevention, traffic management, emergency response, border security, and investigative intelligence under a unified national architecture. The platform would also integrate the country’s various safety, security, and intelligence databases and record keeping systems into a common operational environment.

The foundation of the platform would include command and control centers, emergency communications, citywide CCTV networks, body-worn cameras, in-vehicle systems, drones, IoT sensors, and secure communications infrastructure. Advanced artificial intelligence and analytics capabilities would provide real-time incident management, facial recognition, vehicle identification, and investigative support.

Core capabilities would include:

• Command and control operations and emergency response coordination
• Citywide video surveillance and analytics
• Criminal identification and investigative support
• Cross-agency information sharing
• Digital evidence management and case management
• Body-worn cameras and mobile policing solutions
• Facial recognition, person search, and trajectory analysis
• Traffic management and violation detection
• Incident detection, alarm management, and emergency communications
• Geographic information systems and geospatial intelligence
• Drone operations, aerial surveillance, and critical infrastructure monitoring
• Border security, traveler risk assessment, and watchlist screening
• Cybersecurity, secure communications, and digital identity management
• Artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and decision support systems
• Cloud infrastructure, data lakes, and disaster recovery platforms

The result would be a scalable, interoperable, and future-ready platform capable of supporting Bangladesh’s long-term public safety, security, and smart city objectives while maintaining national sovereignty over critical data and operational systems.
