IDS 2027

March 16-20, 2027
IDS in Cologne is the premier global show and one of the major trade events for the entire dental industry. The show is staged biannually. In 2023, IDS celebrated two milestones: the show’s 100th anniversary since its launch in 1923 when the show was a small industry gathering with 29 exhibitors held in the Berlin Zoo; and the 40th edition as the leading global trade fair taking place on the Cologne fairgrounds. Traditionally, IDS hosts a large USA Pavilion. Highlights from 2025 include 2,010 exhibitors from 61 countries, 1,547 exhibitors from abroad, and 135,267 visitors from 156 countries.  In 2025, the U.S. contingent of 140+ firms was co-recruited by the U.S. Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) as well as Cologne Messe North America. IDS 2025 hosted 2,000+ exhibitors from 60 countries, 135,000 trade visitors, and a gross exhibition space of 180,000 square meters.

The U.S. Commercial Service No-Cost Assistance for all American Exhibitors and Visitors

The U.S. Commercial Service in Germany provides a range of services to American exhibitors and even visitors to trade shows in Germany. For IDS 2027, we are again working with our fellow U.S. Commercial Service Dental Specialists in other countries to promote your presence, and your products/services, to buyers and other potential business partners in those markets.

Our Exhibitor Support Program

  • We alert potential German partners that you will be at the show to generate interest in your products or services and feature your products or services on our official U.S. Commercial Service website in Germany to generate additional business leads.
  • The U.S. Commercial Service colleagues in other countries will promote your products/services to buyers and other potential business partners in their markets.
  • We provide on-site counseling during the trade show.
  • We can follow up for you with the contacts you make at the trade fair, or the trade leads we collect for you.
  • We can introduce you to an International Trade Specialist at your nearest U.S. Commercial Service office in the United States.

Looking forward to seeing you at IDS 2027!

Global Business Navigator Chatbot Beta

Welcome to the Global Business Navigator, an artificial intelligence (AI) Chatbot from the International Trade Administration (ITA). This tool, currently in beta version testing, is designed to provide general information on the exporting process and the resources available to assist new and experienced U.S. exporters. The Chatbot, developed using Microsoft’s Azure AI services, is trained on ITA’s export-related content and aims to quickly get users the information they need. The Chatbot is intended to make the benefits of exporting more accessible by understanding non-expert language, idiomatic expressions, and foreign languages.

Limitations

As a beta product, the Chatbot is currently being tested and its responses may occasionally produce inaccurate or incomplete information. The Chatbot is trained to decline out of scope or inappropriate requests. The Chatbot’s knowledge is limited to the public information on the Export Solutions web pages of Trade.gov, which covers a wide range of topics on exporting. While it cannot provide responses specific to a company’s product or a specific foreign market, its reference pages will guide you to other relevant government resources and market research. Always double-check the Chatbot’s responses using the provided references or by visiting the Export Solutions web pages on Trade.gov. Do not use its responses as legal or professional advice. Inaccurate advice from the Chatbot would not be a defense to violating any export rules or regulations.

Privacy

The Chatbot does not collect information about users and does not use the contents of users’ chat history to learn new information. All feedback is anonymous. Please do not enter personally identifiable information (PII), sensitive, or proprietary information into the Chatbot. Your conversations will not be connected to other interactions or accounts with ITA. Conversations with the Chatbot may be reviewed to help ITA improve the tool and address harmful, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate questions.

Translation

The Chatbot supports a wide range of languages. Because the Chatbot is trained in English and responses are translated, you should verify the translation. For example, the Chatbot may have difficulty with acronyms, abbreviations, and nuances in a language other than English.
