Next year, the U.S. government’s largest annual trade mission and business development forum is heading to five countries across South America. If you’re looking to grow your business internationally, you’ll want to check it out.

Trade Winds – The Americas is a great opportunity for U.S. businesses to meet face-to-face with potential partners and distributors through customized matchmaking meetings and to participate in networking events. Trade Mission attendees will also be provided with exclusive consultations  with industry and trade experts from U.S. Embassies and Consulates across the region, like myself, as I serve as the Regional Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires.

The Trade Winds forum will kick off in São Paulo, Brazil, with additional mission stops in four other countries, including Argentina - the third-largest economy in Latin America and one of the most urbanized populations in the world. Argentina has a talented and educated workforce and a growing consumer demand for U.S. products and services. The United States has long been Argentina’s top source of foreign direct investment, with over 300 U.S. companies present in the market—some of which have been operating in Argentina for more than century.

While Argentina has experienced some economic challenges in recent years, there is increasing potential for U.S. exporters as the economy recovers. In 2023, the total value of U.S. exports to Argentina reached $18.7 billion. Looking ahead, there are abundant possibilities for U.S. companies across a variety of sectors. A resource-rich country, Argentina’s opportunities range from mining and energy to health, agriculture, information communication technology, and safety and security. U.S. companies, with their strong worldwide reputation for quality, innovation and after-sale service, are well-positioned for export success in Argentina’s market. If you’re ready to take your business to the next level, Trade Winds - The Americas is a great opportunity. Check out the Trade Winds website for more information and to register. When you do, I hope that you’ll consider joining the mission stop in Argentina. My team and I look forward to welcoming you to Buenos Aires in April 2025!
