In 2017, construction and engineering was a $2 billion sector for the United Nations. The main category within this sector is building and facility maintenance and repair services with a total volume of $572.2 million with the largest procurement coming from International Organization for Migration with 33.3 percent of total procurement in that category. United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the largest procuring organization, however, with 26.8 percent of total procurement within this sector. UNHCR procured more than 90 percent of both structural materials and lamps and lightbulbs and lamp components. The United States was the second main supplier country for construction and engineering, with $137.9 million of the total spent in this category, or about 7% of the total.
