On March 18, 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) announced the initiation of antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations of truck bed covers from the People’s Republic of China (China).

Imports of truck bed covers enter under an HTSUS subheading that covers a wide range of automotive products, including subject merchandise and non-subject merchandise. Therefore, publicly available import data may not accurately reflect actual imports of truck bed covers covered by the scope of the investigations. The petitioner estimated that the volume of U.S. imports of truck bed covers in 2025 was 946,000 units.

Next Steps

  • The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) is currently scheduled to issue its preliminary determination on or around April 13, 2026.  For more information related to the ITC’s timeline, please refer to the ITC’s calendar.
  • If the ITC issues an affirmative preliminary determination, Commerce would be scheduled to announce its preliminary determination on May 22, 2026, for the CVD investigation, and on August 5, 2026, for the AD investigation. These deadlines may be extended in accordance with the statute.

Always double-check the Chatbot’s responses using the provided references or by visiting the Export Solutions web pages on Trade.gov. Do not use its responses as legal or professional advice. The Chatbot does not collect information about users and does not use the contents of users’ chat history to learn new information. All feedback is anonymous.
