Natalie Soroka
Natalie Soroka is serving as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Trade Policy & Analysis (TP&A) at the International Trade Administration (ITA). In this role, she directs a team of over 40 staff across four offices covering investment security, standards, economic research, and quantitative analysis. She also oversees the Department of Commerce’s participation in the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
With nearly two decades at ITA, Ms. Soroka has built deep expertise in international trade and economic policy, specializing in trade data analytics, supply chain resiliency, and economic security. She most recently served as Senior Advisor for TP&A, coordinating efforts to provide data, analysis, and policy recommendations on issues affecting U.S. industry competitiveness, and leading teams that leveraged innovative analytical techniques to deliver actionable insights in support of Administration priorities. Prior to that, as a Senior International Economist within TP&A, she supported the development and enforcement of U.S. trade policy through complex economic analysis, utilizing methodologies such as general equilibrium modeling to estimate impacts on the U.S. economy. She also managed and promoted major data products to expand access to and understanding of U.S. trade data across government, academia, and the general public.
Ms. Soroka holds a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and has taught as an adjunct professor at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.
