Emily Davis is the Director of Public Affairs for the International Trade Administration (ITA) at the U.S. Department of Commerce. In this role, Emily leads the staff and operations of the Office of Public Affairs and serves as the principal spokesperson for the agency. Her responsibilities include strategic communications leadership, public information program activities, media relations, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement. 

Prior to joining ITA, Emily worked for 20 years in policy communications in the federal government and the private sector. She has worked in communications consulting and independent contracting, including founding EVANGELINE LLC, a communications and design services firm. Her career includes three years at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) leading media and public affairs, including trade policy message and strategy development, interagency communications coordination, and international press operations for trade negotiations and agreements. Her communications experience also comprises director- and executive-level work at a federal international development agency, issue advocacy organizations, statewide and national political campaigns, and the U.S. House of Representatives.  

Emily earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Dallas Baptist University and a Master’s degree in Global Strategic Communications from Georgetown University.
