Ashok Pinto serves as Executive Director of SelectUSA, a program led by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, which focuses on facilitating business investment into the United States that creates jobs and boosts the U.S. economy. He is also performing the non-exclusive functions and duties of Assistant Secretary for Global Markets and Director General of the United States and Foreign Commercial Service.

Ashok has served in all three branches of the U.S. Government. He began his career in private practice as an IP litigator and was Counselor to both the General Counsel and the Under Secretary for International Affairs at the Treasury Department, as well as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Executive Director at the World Bank. Ashok has also held senior positions in Congress – on the House Oversight, Senate Judiciary, and Senate Commerce Committees – and as Special Assistant and Associate Counsel to the President in the White House Counsel’s Office. Prior to joining the Commerce Department, he was a Director in Intel Corporation’s Intellectual Property Policy Group. He received his BA from Stanford University and his JD from the University of Illinois College of Law.
